RHYS Griffiths led the way with a hat-trick as Llanelli moved into third place in the Welsh Premier with a 4-0 Tuesday night win at Haverfordwest.

Winner of the league’s Golden Boot award for the past five season, marksman Griffiths took his season’s goal tally to eight from seven games, opening his account in the 25th-minute.  Manager Andy Legg’s injury fears following Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Prestatyn proved groundless as both Antonio Corbisiero and Owain Warlow took their places in the starting line-up at the New Bridge Meadow. And it was Warlow who added the second eight minutes later, with Griffiths on target again in the 67th and 89th-minutes.
Legg reinstated keeper Ashley Morris, who missed the early part of the season through injury, in place of youngster Craig Richards, whose mistake cost the Reds a point at Bastion Road in their last game.

The result was a quick reality check for Derek Brazil’s Bluebirds, who won by the same scoreline three days ago at home to Airbus UK Broughton, and remain in ninth place.
