Housing provider Grŵp Gwalia has been granted planning permission to build 12 homes in Llanelli on the former Buckley’s Brewery site.
The development of affordable one-bedroom apartments is the penultimate phase of the regeneration of the whole brewery site.
It will include the refurbishment of an existing building and the new-build of a four-storey block.
The existing building, once the brewery offices, will be renovated to provide four spacious apartments along the riverside walkway.
The new-build element will house eight apartments, some with work-from-home facilities to cater for a wide range of lifestyles.
Stuart Davies, Grŵp Gwalia executive director of social and affordable housing development, said: “This latest scheme is phase three of our redevelopment of the former Buckley’s Brewery.
“We are delivering a high-quality residential development which continues to support the regeneration of Llanelli.â€
All the homes will be built with high levels of energy efficiency, decreasing the carbon footprint of the development and reducing tenants’ energy bills. Work is due to start early next year.
