Decorate the jar and lid with stickers and provide slips of paper for guests to write their names and their “guess” and a small basket or box to collect the entries. At the end of the party award the jar of goodies to the child with the closest guess.
Write the word Christmas, Santa Claus, or snowman at the top of a poster board and have guests see how many other words they can spell with these letters. Read Christmas books or show a short Christmas video.
Go Christmas caroling in your neighbuorhood. Set-up a few neighbuors with sweets andy or favour items to distribute to carolers.
Arts & Crafts
Provide white paper for children to cut into snowflakes and construction paper to be turned into paper chains. Cut old greeting cards into holiday shapes (tree, star, candy cane) and provide glitter and ribbon for easy Christmas tree ornaments. Apply glue to the tips of pinecones and decorate with white glitter.
Party Foods
Serve warm winter favorites, such as macaroni and cheese, soup, or stew. Make snowman face crackers with cream cheese and olives. Make snowball cupcakes (white icing with shredded coconut) or rice krispie balls. Bake gingerbread cookies and handout candy canes. Serve hot chocolate or hot apple cider.
