Winter Weather Info (Friday 17th Dec 2010)
Snow showers will continue through the morning and RSTs will struggle to get back above zero in places. Brisk north-westerly winds are likely to bring further snow showers this afternoon although these should become increasingly well-scattered into the evening. Some heavy and persistent snow is then expected to move in from the west after midnight. The snow is likely to continue until mid-morning on Saturday with significant accumulations likely, after which time there will be scattered snow showers again. Mainly dry overnight but very cold and icy. Sunday through to Monday morning looks largely dry with light winds but very cold. Possible further heavy snow later on Monday/Monday night.

Roads
Trunk roads and class one roads are being given priority. Conditions are treacherous in many areas of the county, particularly on untreated roads. Drivers are being urged to take extra care and travel only if necessary. Some congestion in the Cross Hands and Ammanford area is causing problems for highways crews to get through. Please refer to ‘Traffic Wales’ for advice on road conditions as well as local radio and heed any police warnings.
All town centres have been treated with rock grip to assist shoppers. The advice to drivers is only to make journeys if they are necessary and to stick to main routes.

Refuse Collections
There are no refuse/recycling collections today due to the adverse weather. Householders are being asked to take in their waste until their next scheduled blue or black bag collection date. The four black bag limit will be suspended during this time.
All HWRCS and recycling centres/bring sites are closed. There are no trade waste collections today. The refuse/recycling crews are being utilised for highways duties during this time.
