Parenting Group

Are you a parent, grandparent or a carer looking after children? Come to a weekly parenting group run by Plant Dewi Families Together group. Parents are welcome to attend to discuss any issues, gain confidence and to make new friends. The session is free and everyone including children are welcome. The weekly sessions run on a  Monday between 9:15am – 12:15pm at Communities First Bigyn 4 meeting room in Penyfan Park.

Debt and Benefit

If you would like advice, or have questions related to benefits, then come and meet Christine and Bryony on Tuesday the 8th of February between 10 – 12 at Communities First Bigyn 4 office. The officers will be able to check that you are receiving the correct benefit and can advise you on other benefits you may be entitled to receive.

DIY Courses

Your local Communities First team is organising a series of construction taster courses aimed at giving you a step up on the ladder to a new career or to give you some handy DIY tips to use around your home. Topics covered on this FREE course include Carpentry, Tiling, Plumbing, Plastering, Painting & Decorating followed by a visit to a building site and an introduction to college-based construction courses. The 3 hourly sessions between 9:15 – 12:15 take place over 6 weeks and will be starting on Wednesday the 9th of February. There are 8 spaces available and to be eligible you must live in a Communities First area, be over 18 and unemployed.

Food Co-op

The Food Co-op is taking orders on a  Wednesday afternoon between 3pm – 4pm at the Cabin. The fruit and local grown vegetables are £3 a bag and must be ordered and paid for a week in advance. If you are interested in volunteering on the Food Co-op project by taking orders, delivering the produce and promoting the scheme, please contact us.

All of the above take place at Communities First Bigyn 4 offices, Penyfan Park, Llanelli. For more information please contact Sarah Williams on 015543 746990.
