LOCAL SPORTS STARS WILL JOIN WILKINSONS TO HELP KICK START CELEBRATIONS
To celebrate its rebranded look, the Wilkinson store in the Market Precinct, Llanelli, will unveil its new image on Thursday 17th March, with a star studded launch, starting at 09:00am.

To kick start the day’s activities, Scarlets’ rugby player, Dominic Day, and Welsh number one javelin thrower, Zoe Priestley, will join the Wilkinsons’ team in a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially mark the re-opening. Both Dominic and Zoe will be available in store to have photographs taken with customers from 09:00am to 10:00am, and the first 50 customers through the door will also be given a raffle ticket and entered into a free prize draw to win two tickets to one of the Scarlets’ home games.
Wilkinsons is also calling all animal enthusiasts to bring their furry friends down to the Market Precinct Bandstand on the day of the re-opening, as the store will be hosting a ‘Pet Idol’ competition. Pets and owners need to arrive at the bandstand, opposite the precinct, no later than 10.30am, for the competition, and the animals will be judged on their looks and charming characteristics. The judging panel will be made up of Zoe Priestley and Wilkinson Llanelli store manager, Stephen Roberts. The winner will be given £50 worth of Wilkinsons’ vouchers to spend on pet products in store and will be announced at 11.30am.
Further activity planned for the re-opening day includes a cake sale and a guess the weight of the Scarlets Rugby Team competition, which will raise money for Anthony Nolan, Wilkinsons’ charity of the year, and one lucky customer will walk away with a hamper full of baking goodies. Staff will also be handing out mini chocolate rugby balls to the children, and packets of sunflower seeds to the adults.
On Saturday 19th March, Wilkinsons will host a family fun day, when a face painter will be in store from 10am – 4pm, transforming children into a variety of animals, fairies and cartoon characters, and a balloon modeller will also be on hand to entertain the children between 11am and 2pm.
Store manager Stephen commented: “We are really excited to welcome Dominic and Zoe along to the store, as they are both fantastic sports stars who are well known in the area. They will help us mark a special day as we celebrate the re-opening of the store.
“The store team has been working extremely hard over the last few months and I have no doubt that customers will be impressed with the new look and feel.”
With its wide selection of high quality, low-priced everyday products, including health and beauty, cleaning, pet care, confectionery, food and snacks, DIY and paint, tools and electrics, toys, gardening equipment, homewares, furniture and lights, kitchen and bath, textiles, stationery and books, Wilkinson in Llanelli will remain the local, trusted high street retailer it always has been.
