Painting and Crafts Exhibition

Paintings, textiles and crafts by Hilary Smith and Audrey Ranson of Burry Port Art Group will be on show at St Ishmaels Church, Ferryside. The church is on the coast road between Kidwelly and Ferryside. Free entry on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 1-10 July between 11am and 3pm.

Choir Annual Concert

Burry Port Male choir are holding their 48th Annual concert on Saturday 2 July at 7pm in the Memorial Hall, Parc-y-Minos Street, Burry Port. Guest artistes are the Three Welsh Tenors Rhys Meirion, Aled Hall and Alun Rhys Jenkins and soprano Eirlys Myfanwy Davies. Guest Accompanist is Caradog Williams and the Compere is Rev Eric Davies. Charity Coffee Morning

Sylvia and John Howells of 95 Stepney Road would like to thank all who supported their recent charity coffee morning. Over 80 people attended raising a donation of £830 with proceeds for the third year going to Ty Bryngwyn Hospice.

Garden Open

Elaine Morgan will open her garden at Red Roofs,129 Elkington Road, Burry Port again this year under the National Garden Scheme. The garden is open on Saturday and Sunday 16 and 17 July between 2 and 6pm.The garden is disabled friendly and there will be refreshments, plant sales and a raffle. Admission £2 children free. Burry Port Folk Club

The folk club meets next on Monday 4 July beginning at 7.30pm at the Coasting Pilot, Bridge Street. It meets on the first and third Mondays of each month. These are “open mic” acoustic nights and we invite singers, instrumentalists, poetry readers, story tellers and those who wish to sit back and enjoy and have a drink or a meal. A PA system is available for use. Each singer is allowed three songs in the first round and two in the second, time permitting. Youth Cafe

The Burry Port Christian Forum’s Youth cafe meets next on Thursday 30 June from 7-9pm.Meetings take place at Ty Mair, the Plant Dewi Centre, Stepney Road. Young people who are 13+ years are welcome to an evening of pool, table football, table tennis, computer games, refreshments, games and discussion.
