Keep Wales Tidy are organising a clean up event in Cross Hands on Tuesday August 9th in Cross Hands.

The event is being held as part of “Total Focus Week”, which is a week long campaign to reduce litter and flytipping in and around the Valleys Regional Park area. Various events will be held throughout the week in Carmarthenshire including a number of “Bring & Take” days, awareness raising and publicity events, and this large scale cleanup; of Crosshands Business Park.

The event will begin at 10am, so attendees are asked to congregate at about 9.45am in the Mc Donald’s car park. We do ask though if you are driving to the event, to please park in the Co-Op or Leekes car parks opposite as Mc Donald’s have a fairly small car park. Mc Donald’s will be providing staff members to assist with the cleanup. There will also be some displays from (to be confirmed) Carmarthenshire County Council’s sustainability department, and Environment Agency Wales.

Litter picking equipment (pickers, hoops, bags, gloves) will be provided and the aim will be to recycle as much of the litter as possible (blue and black bags will be available). Cleanup attendees will be covered under Keep Wales Tidy’s liability insurance.

The cleanup event will aim to finish about 12pm, but there may be scope to continue after lunch if need be.
