Nia Griffith MP and Keith Davies AM recently joined Burry Port parents and children for a fun day in the park.
Â
Thanks to Cllr Mary Wenman’s vision and persistence, Burry Port Park Appeal Committee was set up a year ago.
Â
It has now secured £100,000 from the Aggregates Levy Fund to upgrade play equipment in Burry Port Park. Mary who chairs the committee and is this year’s Deputy Mayor of Burry Port, said:
“We are delighted to receive this grant, and I would like to thank everyone who has helped us, but we still need to raise more money and awareness, so we are doing further grant applications, and running fundraising events.â€
Nia Griffith MP said, “Congratulations to the committee for obtaining this grant which means we are well on the way to improving the toddler play area and providing a Multi Use Games Area, a MUGA for teenagers. It was great to see everyone out enjoying the Fun Day in the park.â€
