Nia Griffith MP and Keith Davies AM recently joined Burry Port parents and children for a fun day in the park.

Thanks to Cllr Mary Wenman’s vision and persistence, Burry Port Park Appeal Committee was set up a year ago.

It has now secured £100,000 from the Aggregates Levy Fund to upgrade play equipment in Burry Port Park. Mary who chairs the committee and is this year’s Deputy Mayor of Burry Port, said:

“We are delighted to receive this grant, and I would like to thank everyone who has helped us, but we still need to raise more money and awareness, so we are doing further grant applications, and running fundraising events.”

Nia Griffith MP said, “Congratulations to the committee for obtaining this grant which means we are well on the way to improving the toddler play area and providing a Multi Use Games Area, a MUGA for teenagers. It was great to see everyone out enjoying the Fun Day in the park.”
