Welsh Beginners Course

This starts at the Leslie Griffiths Centre, Glanmor Terrace, Burry Port at the beginning of October. The course is on Wednesdays and Fridays from 1-3pm for 30 weeks with no lessons during school holidays. Register and pay at the centre on Wednesday 21 September at 1pm.More details contact 01792 602070.

Coffee/Bingo Evening

On Monday 12 September there is a Coffee /Bingo evening at the Royal British Legion Headquarters. Entrance 40pmembers and guests. Bingo last books 8.20pm.

Gardening Club

On Monday 5 September the Pembrey and Burry Port Gardening Club are holding their monthly meeting at 7.15pm in the Community Hall, Pembrey. After Tips of the Month there will be speaker D Gardner on Soft Fruit.

Everyone is welcome to come along. Cost £1 at the door to include a raffle ticket and refreshments. The garden club meets on the first Monday of the month excepting Bank Holidays and December which is the Christmas Dinner. Why not come and join us for a small annual fee. Medication Classes

A Burry Port Complimentary Therapist holds these every Tuesday 6.30-8pm in Sandy Community Hall. New members always welcome. Reiki, Indian Head Massage, Reflexology and other therapies available at other times. Enquiries contact Barbara on 01554 833402.

Stamps for Charity

Please recycle your used postage stamps for various charities mainly Marie Curie Cancer Care and animal charities. These can be sent, or taken, to Stamps For Charity at 44 Colby Road, Burry Port,SA16 0RH.There are boxes for stamps in various collection points around Burry Port, Llanelli, and Carmarthen.

Car Boot Sale

These continue, weather permitting, every Sunday until the last one in September.£5 per car on the Marina field, Burry Port. Sellers 9am and buyers from 10am onwards.

Cefn Sidan U3a

The Burry Port and Pembrey U3A group meetings start again in September and include on Monday 5 at 10.30am the committee meeting. Tuesday 6 is the film group at 2.15pm showing Carousel. The gardening group meeting on Monday 12 at 10.15am.Tuesday 13 at 2.15pm is the Craft and Art group. Wednesday 14 the business, theatre and excursion group coffee morning is at 11am.The main monthly Speakers meeting on Monday 19 at 2.15pm has the topic First Impressions. Tuesday 20 at 10.15am is the local history group and the Short Walk group in the afternoon details contact Jill on 834061. Monday 26 the drama group meet at 2.15pm.Tuesday 27 is the walking group in the morning contact Jill as before. There is Welsh every Friday afternoon at 2.15pm.Meetings usually take place in the Memorial Hall annexe, except the walking group, and new members will be most welcome.
