2011, ‘THE YEAR OF PEOPLE OF AFRICAN DESCENT’

Here is the list of activities that The Llanelli Multicultural Network is putting on for Black History Month in October.

If you are part of a group/organisation , or work with a group/organisation, we would really like you to be involved in some or all of these events. Call the office NOW!!!!(our thanks go to BVSNW for their support and working with us and other groups and organisations in partnership, to put on events all around Wales celebrating Black History Month)

Tuesday 11.10.2011

In partnership with Coleg Sir Gar(Graig Campus) Llanelli part of their fortnight called “Respect Campaign”…Raising awareness of African Heritage and culture with Cultural performances and workshops with Gbubemi Amas.

12-2pm in the atrium of the College everybody welcome. African Drumming Workshop

10-3pm Five -0ne hour sessions with various tutor groups discussion forum around the topic of “2011, The Year of People of African Descent” with members of the local Black community(these sessions will not be available to the public).  Coleg Sir Gar, Graig Campus, Sandy Road, Pwll, SA15 4DN

4pm-6pm Theatr Elli Llanelli.  Performances celebrating the theme of “People of African Descent”4-6pm.  Titled “Amas and The Amigos”

An Afternoon featuring the influence of Africa on music, musical performance, with a small drama performance from the Mess up the Mess youth Theatre company.  Tickets £6 and £3 for concessions.  Theatr Elli, Station Road, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, SA15 1AH.  Click here for tickets.

12.00-2.30pm.  Lakefield Hall Llanelli (Multicultural Drop In Centre) African Drumming and dance workshop . African cookery demonstration.
