Telephone Scam

Dyfed Powys Police are warning residents to be aware of telephone calls received from unknown persons stating that they had over paid fees to their bank and that they were entitled to £2600 refund.

To receive this money they were asked to pay £149 by electronic transfer via the Post Office. Two local residents visited the Post Office in the Ammanford area with the view of sending money. The staff at the Post office suspected that this may be a scam and advised the customers accordingly.

Please be aware of callers requesting personal details and do not release bank or personal details to strangers on the phone or callers at the door.
