Job Details

The Skills for Industry project has been established through the collaboration of the South West Wales Further Education Colleges and will adopt an innovative ‘sector-based’ approach to the delivery of vocational training to the employed people of the region. The project will assist employers and enterprises in adapting to economic change by raising the skills levels and qualifications of their employees. The project which has been part funded by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government, will provide a strategic approach to the delivery of workforce development to support productivity and progression in employment, raising the skill levels and tackling skills gaps and shortages by providing lower skilled workers with vocational skills and qualifications up to level 2 and level 3 across a variety of occupational sectors.

The project will be based primarily at the college’s Graig Campus but the post holder will be expected to travel extensively to client premises and the other college campuses.

The post holder will be responsible for the operational and financial management of the project to meet specific agreed targets & outputs. Whilst line managed by the Director of Business Development, the post holder will report on project progress and outcomes to a Project Executive Group. The role will involve the day to day management of a project team and extensive collaborative working with a wide range of personnel from a large number of companies from a diverse range of sectors.
