Olympic Torch comes to the area!

It has just been announced that the Olympic torch will be visting Llanelli, Burry Port and Kidwelly as part of the London 2012 celebrations.

Games organisers Locog have set out the 1,018 places the torch will pass through when it is carried around the UK from 19 May to 27 July 2012.  During the 10-week relay, the torch will be carried by 8,000 torchbearers and will travel about 8,000 miles and it will come within 10 miles of 95% of the population.

It will go through every English county and every local authority area in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

The torch comes to the area on the 27th of May 2012 as part of the relay for this area which starts in Swansea and finishs in Aberystwyth.

The torch will  follow the A484 through this area to Carmathen.
