Christmas Carnival

On 25th November the Christmas Carnival will include a procession leaving the Royal British Legion at 6pm and walking to the Memorial Gardens for a short Carol service with local schoolchildren taking part. Then the Christmas lights will be switched on. Afterwards there will be the Burry Port Male choir, stalls and Santa’s grotto in the Memorial Hall. Entrance to the hall (over 16) £1 and children free. Santa will ride in the procession before going into his grotto. Entrance to Santa’s grotto is £1.50.

British Legion Entertainment

On Saturday 26th November there will be vocal entertainer Bethany Williams. Tickets £2 to members and £3 to guests. Doors open 7pm.Last bingo books 7.50pm.

Christmas Fayre

This will be on Saturday 26th November at 2pm in the Catholic Church Hall, Pencoed Road. Entrance £1 to include tea or coffee and mince pie. Children free.

Christmas Fayre Coffee Evening

The Ladies Fundraising Section of Burry Port Male Choir are holding their usual Christmas Fayre and Coffee Evening on Friday 2nd December at 6.30pm in the Memorial Hall,Parc y Minos Street, Burry Port. There will be stalls selling homemade cakes, toiletries, toys, jewellery and accessories, books and bric-a-brac. There will be various raffles to be drawn on the night. Tickets at £1 each include tea, coffee or squash and biscuits plus the added attraction of informal entertainment by the Burry Port Male Choir.

All funds go towards the running of the choir which is a registered charity.

Christmas Community Concert

On Friday 9th December the Burry Port Male choir host the Christmas Community Concert at 7pm in the Memorial Hall, Parc y Minos Street, Burry Port. There will be performances by Laura Morris, children of Burry Port Junior, Pembrey Primary and Glan-y-Mor Comprehensive schools, St Mary’s Church Group, Burry Port Opera Chorus and Burry Port Brass Band Ensemble plus the choir. Admission £3 by programme available from the schools, choristers and the box office on the night.

Cefn Sidan U3a

The Burry Port and Pembrey U3A group meetings in December include the Welsh conversation at 2.15pm Friday 2nd and 9th of December.

  • The committee meeting on Monday 5th at 10.30am.
  • Tuesday 6th at 2.15pm the film group are showing The King and I and the short walk group also meets in the afternoon. Contact Jill on 834061 for details.

  • The gardening group meeting on Monday 12th at 10.15am with the subject The Future and at 2.15pm is the final rehearsal for the drama group.

  • Tuesday 13th at 2.15pm is the Craft and Art group.

  • Wednesday 14th the business, theatre and excursion group coffee morning is cancelled due to the unavailability of the hall.

  • Friday 16th at 12.30pm is the combined Welsh and craft group Christmas lunch.

  • T he main monthly speakers meeting on Monday 19th at 2.15pm is the Christmas entertainment.

  • Tuesday 20th the local history group is cancelled but there is another short walk, contact Jill as before.

  • All other groups after the 20th are cancelled.
