Ashburnham plays it’s part
The Ashburnham Championship Links golf course in Pembrey is playing its part in a revival of the South Wales PGA, Professional Golfers’ Association.
Â
Adam Constable, twice winner of the Young Welsh Professional Championship, is behind the project.
The Cardiff assistant is organising a series of medals events for the early part of this year.
“We are delighted to be playing our part in this revival,” said Ashburnham club manager Huw Morgan.
“It’s great to see the professionals from different clubs in Wales getting together and playing quality courses.”
The first event is at Ashburnham Golf Club on February 6 (tee-off from 10.30-11.30am), followed by a visit to Tenby on February 20 (10.48am-noon) and Cardiff on March 7 (10-11am).
Constable, who is seeking entries from Welsh PGA members, said: “I am waiting for conformation of venues for two other fixtures. The last strokeplay event is likely to be the championship in early April and there will also be a qualifier for the Graham Poor Matchplay.”
