Communities First Bigyn 4 news (we 12th February 2012)

“Options” Training will be delivering a short, but effective, assertiveness workshop on Thursday February 9 from 10-12pm at the Community of Christ Church, Trostre Road.

The workshop, entitled, “Say what you Mean, Mean what you Say, part two will look at patterns of behavior in ourselves and others, and explore why we can’t say “No” without feeling guilty. This is a follow on from the workshops held January 16 and February 2 giving you the opportunity to practice what you’ve learned. The workshop is FREE, and light refreshments are provided.

The above is one of a series of FREE workshops, called “Re-Discover”, which look at confidence building, signs and symptoms of stress, being more assertive, planning your time and planning for yourself. FREE CHILDCARE AVAILABLE

From February 17 we will be running a series of workshops called “Re-Start” – helping you back into work. The workshops will cover CV writing skills, Interview tips, Creating good impressions, and where to go next. If you are interested please contact Jenna or Amanda on the number below.

Purple Routes Play Association will be holding an open access play session at Quarry Park in Penyfan between 11-12.30 on Monday February 13. Come along and do some dragon building!

Next FREE sign language class Monday February 20 at the Community of Christ Church, Trostre Road, between 7-8.30pm.

Next FREE Welsh Class Tuesday February 14 between 6–8pm at the Community of Christ Church.

On February 28 between 1.30-3.00pm Llanelli 50+ Befriending Group will be meeting at the Community of Christ Church to discuss the way forward for the group.

We will also be holding an event called “Your Way to Work” on Wednesday 8 February between 10am-1.30pm, at the Antioch Centre. This event is all about helping you to get your foot through the door, whether you’re searching for your first job, looking to get back to employment, or trying to fill out that CV, this event will help you.

There will be lots to see and do including a variety of workshops, online job searching plus there will be stands a plenty from organisations that specialise in helping you find “Your way to Work.”
