Baron Griffiths of Burry Port at Llanelli Rotary

The special guest speaker at Llanelli Rotary Club’s St David’s Day Dinner at the Stradey Park Hotel, Llanelli, was Leslie Griffiths, Baron Griffiths of Burry Port.

Lord Griffiths was welcomed to the meeting by Llanelli Rotary Club President Graham Williams.

A native of Burry Port, Lord Griffiths is a Methodist Minister and a life peer in the House of Lords.

He became a preacher in the Methodist Church of Great Britain in 1963.

He trained for the Ministry at Wesley House and completed a MA in theology at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge.

For many years, he worked overseas in Haiti.

He is the current Superintendent Minister at Wesley’s Chapel, London.

Now 70, he was created Baron Griffiths of Burry Port in 2004.
