The COASTAL Project

The COASTAL Project, is a Regional Strategic Project, covering the 6 local authority areas of Bridgend, Neath Port Talbot, Swansea, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion.

 

It is aimed at the promotion of vocational guidance, employment, skills training and lifelong learning opportunities for individuals who are currently economically inactive as a result of illness, disability, (Mental Illness, Learning Disability, Physical Disability, Sensory Impairment) substance misuse problems and/or the serious social disadvantage associated with the transition from long-term care into adulthood.

Carmarthenshire’s vision is to enable 838 disadvantaged adults in Carmarthenshire improve their skills, employment prospects and economic positions.

Here in Carmarthenshire we have a dedicated team of staff who are there to support you as individuals based in our Career Pathways Team. Via a person centered approach our specialised team throughout the County are there to assist individuals reach their full potential.

We can provide direct support and funding for training and education, we can also source work opportunities and employment. We can even continue to support individuals after they have gained employment.

Activity throughout our projects include Grounds Maintenance within the community, craft areas, wood work and much more.

We also have a café in County Hall which also offers training to our Participants.
