Police hunt driver
A 12 year old girl needed hospital treatment yesterday morning following a road traffic collision involving her and a car in Tunnel Road some time between 8.15am and 8.30pm.
The girl was walking to school along with a group of friends at the time of the collision. The car failed to stop and was seen to travel down Tunnel Road before turning right on to Wern Road.
“The only details we have at the moment is that the car involved was silver and the driver was a thick-set male with grey hair,” said PC Jason Morgan. “The driver failed to stop following the collision and we are now hoping to locate him and speak with him about the incident.
“The young girl was taken to Prince Philip Hospital and was treated for a minor head injury, cuts and bruises and shock.
“If anyone was travelling around this location at this time and saw a silver car travelling down Tunnel Road or Wern Road I’d ask them to please get in touch.”
