Ysgol Ponthenri raisin’ cash for Bobath

It was a piece of cake for pupils from Ysgol Ponthenri in Llanelli, to raise money for charity, dressed in their traditional welsh costumes, the school baked and sold welsh cakes for children with cerebral palsy.

They joined children from all over Wales who raised money by making cakes and selling them to parents, teachers and friends. Bake for Bobath is held every year during the week of St David’s Day, and will help towards raising £850,000 that Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales needs to continue providing specialist Bobath therapy to children throughout Wales who have cerebral palsy.

Community Fundraising Coordinator for Bobath, Nia Richards says “Bake for Bobath has really grown over the last years raising over £45,000 since it begun in 2006. We are really hoping to make it the biggest Welsh cake bake for charity.”
