Doctor Who’s Amy Pond dies in Llanelli?

By Jonathan Williams

It took the Doctor Who world by storm yesterday and nearly closed our site due to the volume of traffic that we had.

However, we thought that we would follow up on our exclusive story and see if we could find out more information.

Prepare yourself for a shock as the Doctor’s companion Amy Pond might have met her demise in Llanelli.

We spoke to the BBC but they wouldn’t comment on anything till the new series starts in October and were trying desperately to keep the storyline underwraps.

We do think though that Llanelli’s Box Cemetery will be playing a major part in the leaving of the Doctor’s companion Amy Pond.

Firstly we spoke to Graham Williams who is the Cemetery Manager and he said:

“They turned up to film around 7am and stayed till about 9.30 pm. We were told to keep it a secret and don’t run to the papers as lots of people turning up could have caused shooting problems.”

“When the schools finished, all the local children turned up and there was also a lot of parents with their children. But everyone behaved and were quiet when they were filming.”

“The stars were quite accommodating, Matt Smith (the Doctor) even posed for pictures with a group of children and stayed in character.”

“All worked out well for them, as that part of the cemetery is quite unique. There’s plenty of room and the some of the memorials blend in with the ‘Weeping Angels’.”

“They’ve been filming in New York and the cemetery is being used as part of that shoot. There was a lot of green screens and as the sky behind their shoot was clear, itmatt smith with graham williams and son will no doubt be transformed when the programme comes out.”

“I met Matt Smith when he was in Llanelli filming the Christmas edition of Doctor Who, he’s a very down to earth pleasant person. You wouldn’t think he was a TV star.”

We did ask Graham about what he saw being filmed but even he was sworn to secrecy and wouldn’t say.

As our story had a created a buzz around town, scores of people descended on the cemetery to try and catch a glimpse of the Doctor and the Tardis.

One Llanelli resident who took his children was Peter Clement. He told us:

“We just drove up to box cemetery to see what was going on and managed to see the doctor and Amy Pond leaving in a car.”

“They stopped the car and waved at the kids.”

“Fair play, it made the children happy and our night, we’re well chuffed!”

So what about Amy Pond? Don’t read on if you don’t want to spoil your enjoyment of the new series.

Doctor Who fan sites are full of stories from eye witnesses who reported that:

  • Amy runs out of the Tardis towards a Weeping Angel.
  • The Doctor and River Song try to help Amy but she continued to walk towards the Angel.
  • The Doctor was heard screaming “No, don’t do this.”
  • It was reported that he then entered the Tardis, angry and sad.
  • Only the Doctor and River Song were seen re-entering the Tardis. So what happened to Amy and Rory?

Was it the end of Amy? Another site says that she is touching the Angel so that she will be sent back in time to be with Rory.

A video of pictures put together by local fan Liam Rees seems to confirm that Amy does indeed meet her demise by a Weeping Angel. Click here to see the video.

One thing is for sure though, we won’t know till October when the new series begins but the whole town has been talking about the visit of everyone’s favourite Time Lord.

It’s also a chance for Llanelli to be seen in a programme that is popular across the world, even if we are doubling up as New York. Makes a change from Merthyr Tydfil!
