Jobseeker of the Week Success ‘Stuart Protheroe’
Stuart attended at The Lighthouse for 6 months from the end of November 2011 – May 2012.
During this time, he completed a CV, Cover Letter, and a Key Skill Qualification at Level 1 in Improving Own Learning & Performance as well as training in interview techniques.He attended job search sessions every week and was an excellent attender.
He applied for vacancies ranging from warehouse and driving to retail.After several months of applying, we started to address why he hadn’t been successful. We considered looking into voluntary work to gain more experience.
Stuart is now due to start volunteering at local charity shop, RSPCA in Stepney Street on June 7th 2012 and is very excited.
When asked, he said, “I am looking forward to getting back into the working environment and meeting new people”.
Rebecca Thomas, his support worker commented saying, “Stuart will be a great addition to the shop as he is friendly, hardworking and enthusiastic. I am confident that he will gain employment this year, after all the hard work he has put in”.
