Seasoned entrepreneurs in Carmarthenshire urged to pass on their know-how

Chwarae Teg, the organisation for the economic development of women in Wales, is calling on experienced entrepreneurs around Carmarthenshire to consider passing on their knowledge and skills to aspiring business people in the area.

As part of an initiative entitled ‘Get Mentoring,’ the organisation is inviting local business leaders and managers in the area to a special workshop in Llanelli on July 4th for a master class on how to use their experience and expertise to help others set up and run successful enterprises.

Led by the UK Government’s Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative, ‘Get Mentoring’ aims to raise awareness of why mentoring matters and ultimately to create a culture in which it becomes normal for businesses to help each other.

The workshop will take place on Wednesday 4th July between 9.30am and 1.30pm at the Beacon Centre for Enterprise in Dafen, Llanelli.

Chwarae Teg is eager to recruit and train prospective mentors from the business community, helping them to increase their skills by equipping them with the tools and techniques to help others through the initial stages of a new venture.

Beverley Pold, development and innovation manager at Chwarae Teg, said: “Mentoring is a key skill for a business leader – “Get Mentoring” provides an opportunity for business leaders to enhance their own expertise while making a real contribution to the growth of business in the Carmarthen area.

“Chwarae Teg is delighted to be delivering the ‘Get Mentoring’ workshops in Wales on behalf of the Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative. We invite people with knowledge and experience who can devote at least one hour each month to support fledgling enterprises in Wales. By volunteering a little of their time they can ensure that new and growing businesses benefit from real support from a real entrepreneur.”

Places on the workshop are limited so early registration is recommended.
