Weatherman Derek Brockway breezed into North Dock

Weatherman Walking Derek Brockway breezed in to the North Dock ice cream kiosk of Mark and Angela Edwards when his travels took him along Llanelli coast last week.

He enjoyed the ice cream so much he took four takes and lots of licks to accept an ice-cream from Mr Edwards and say to camera “An invigorating walk….fresh air and exercise ….with glorious views from the highest hills or along a beautiful beach and coastline ….what more could you wish for? …and sometimes an ice cream along the way….come on lets go for a walk.”

 

There was no need to hone shorthand skills to take down his words, Mr Brockway left his full script on a table in from of the kiosk where he devoured his ice-cream.

Mark said: “It was a bit of a shock to see Derek waving his arms about coming in to look at the ice cream display. You could say he took us by storm!

“Derek specifically asked for a toffee fudge flavour although he took a little time deciding because we have more than 50 to choose from.”

Mark said Derek told him he had walked and cycled along Llanelli’s magnificent Millennium Coastal Park from Bynea Gateway through the Wetlands and Penclackwydd and was going through to Cefn Sidan Beach Pembrey for one of Weatherman Walking programmes which will be broadcast on Radio Wales in January 2013.

And the script? Mr Edwards said he was keeping it for a read on rainy day.
