MUSICAL JOURNEY REPERTOIRE

Founder and Director, John Hywel Williams MBE, looks forward to the concert season. “It’s all about singing, performing and enjoying”, explains John Hywel Williams. “To do this to a wealth of audiences across the country and performing with a variety of great choirs and artists make it worth all the hard work.”

Behind the scenes, the choir is busy expanding its new repertoire which takes the theme of ‘Time Travel: A Musical Journey’. The repertoire takes choristers and audiences on an exciting musical journey of singing across time, with a diverse and exciting repertoire from the 17th century through to present day and spanning various genres, styles and cultures – spanning favourites from the world of film and cinema, classical and opera, sacred, international folk, rock and pop, gospel and Broadway and West End musicals.

EXCITING TIME TO JOIN

The choir is currently welcoming all new singers to join. The opportunity to join is open to all young people from the age of 7 to 17. There are no musical auditions except the love to sing. “It’s a great opportunity for young people who love to sing”, explains Jeremy Hywel Williams, the choir’s Director of Development. “Over the years, we’ve seen young choristers join who have gone on enjoy successful singing careers – singing in leading opera houses around the world and even going on to win the Eurovision Song Contest.” The choir rehearses at Glenalla Civic Hall, Llanelli at 6pm on Friday evenings.
