Flood Update

Environment Agency Wales is reminding people to be alert as more heavy rainfall is forecast across Wales.

Although the forecast looks as though it is improving for the weekend, a band of heavy showers is due to affect mid, north and parts of south east Wales from tomorrow morning.  There is a low risk that localised showers may cause surface water flooding of roads from small streams and drains.

Rivers are not expected to rise significantly from the forecast rainfall.  However, the heavy rainfall may cause some disruption locally, and people are warned that driving conditions may be hazardous.  People are advised to be alert for any possible flooding and not to walk or drive through flood water.

For reports of any local travel problems or disruption in their area people should listen to local weather, news and traffic reports.

For the latest on flood alerts and warnings go to http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/flood or call Floodline on 0845 988 1188.
