New retro games stall turns heads

By Matthew Johnson

RETROBUTION is a retro games and memorabilia stall that has recently opened in the market and is already attracting lots of attention!

With the closure of Gamestation and GAME in the town people of all ages have welcomed the news.

As well as selling old games and toys he also buys games for cash and does disk repairs. The owner David Turvey had this to say about his reasons for starting his stall:

“Starting at the beginning is the best way to explain what games are about to customers and create an eye-catching display that people will talk about to their friends or partners, even parents can show their children what they used to play as a child whilst they browse through newer titles.”

“Over the years retailers have got rid of the older stuff to create more space for new and instead of displaying the older games they would display things like bags or keyrings or a few toys that bring back a memory of an old game.”

“Games are made to be played whether that’s new or old. Customers have their own games collections but some new titles can be expensive to purchase on their own so providing a service where customers can exchange their old games and consoles for new ones will help the customer get the game they want at a better price.”

“Having retro games on display shows customers that games are back in town and not just being sold online.”

Dave is most well know in the town for his work in Gamestation before its closure, he is also much loved for his great customer service and extensive knowledge he connected with customers.

“Llanelli is currently having a lot of shops close down, even shops in Trostre!”

“A lot of towns have a thriving market and popular shops on the outside but as shops start closing from the inner part of Llanelli, people are beginning to shop further away!”

“I decided to take a gamble on the idea that Llanelli would benefit from a good shop to go to that filled the gap from what was missing from the town.”

“There would be more money to make in Swansea and Cardiff but I felt that Llanelli needed a games shop and that I could make a small living and also give a little back to the Town and the customers I used to serve too.”

We at Your Llanelli wish him all the best in the future.
