Take a good look at the sign, can you see anything wrong?

Yes, the sign shown is advertising the National Botantic Gardens, instead of Botanic. What makes it worse is that it’s spelt wrong in English when usually it’s the Welsh version that keeps the sign makers awake all night with worry.

It’s not hoax and has been doing the rounds on Facebook since Monday. In fact, you can see the sign for yourself if you drive through Cross Hands. TheĀ chances are you’ve passed it many times and haven’t noticed the spelling before!

The sign is on the A482, as you drive out of Cross Hands on the way to the Co-op/A48/M4 roundabout.

Who is responsible for the proof reading and the sign?

We’re unsure. The National Botanic Garden say its not them as they don’t get to proof read and we have contacted the County Council but we are still waiting for a reply from them. They needed us to tell them where the sign was.

Even in these times of austerity measures, you can always count on a free T when you visit Cross Hands!
