Statement from Keith Davies AM English GCSE results
Llanelli AM Keith Davies has welcomed the decision by Welsh Labour Education Minister Leighton Andrews to order the regrading of English Language GCSE results in Wales.
Keith Davies, Labour Assembly Member for Llanelli said:
“I am pleased that Leighton Andrews has made the position crystal clear to learners in Wales. It shows that the Welsh Labour Government is determined to resolve the injustice that has blighted the marks of students across Wales and England because of the decision of the UK Government Minister to change the goalposts during the school year.
“Following the publication of the report, “GCSE English Language – an investigation into the outcomes for candidates in Wales”, it was only right and proper that Leighton Andrews accepted the proposals and acts to resolve this matter as quickly as possible for the benefit of all of those students who received their GCSE results in English language just a few weeks ago.”
