Due to a 2-week woodland project in October, there will only be the following events this month:
- 5th – River clean: Garnant – https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=51.804382,-3.906412&hl=en&num=1&t=h&z=16 (Meet in the bowls club car park). (10am – 1pm). Some tools and equipment will be available but please bring gloves and / or waders if you have them.
- 8th – Cleanup: Swiss Valley Reservoir – https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=51.7167,-4.150515&hl=en&num=1&t=h&z=16 (Meet in the car park between the 2 reservoirs). (10.30am – 1.30pm). Tools and equipment will be available, but please bring a wheelbarrow if you can.
- 12th, 13th & 14th – Maintenance / habitat work: Morfa Berwig Nature Reserve – https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=51.669834,-4.107605&hl=en&num=1&t=h&z=18 (Meet in the turning area at the end of Berwick Road). (9.30am – 2.30pm each day). Work will include litter picking, grass / hedge cutting and repairs to fencing / gates. Some tools and equipment will be available, but if you are able to bring any of the following it would be a great help: loppers, shears, strimmer, bow saw, rake, spade, shovel. THIS EVENT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN.
- 19th – Working party: Pontyberem – https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=51.778701,-4.16973&hl=en&num=1&t=h&z=17 (Meet at the rear of the main car park). Work will include litter picking , gardening or clearing overgrown footpaths. Tools and equipment will be available.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE MEETING POINTS ARE WHERE THE ARROW IS POINTING, NOT POINT A.
All (unless otherwise stated) are welcome to join the above events. You are welcome to stay for the duration or any time you can give will be greatly received. For all day events, please bring lunch as we don’t provide this, and the work locations are often not near food outlets / shops.
If you arrive after the designated start time, please ring 07824 504805 when you arrive in case we have moved on to a different part of the site, or come and look for us.
Children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult.
You are covered under Keep Wales Tidy’s insurance while at these events.
Please dress sensibly to suit the weather conditions on the day. Suitable footwear should be worn also (not sandals / flip flops, formal shoes); safety boots are ideal, but anything fairly rugged will be acceptable.
