Shoppers buying Christmas gifts are asked to buy one extra to help Carmarthenshire families in need.
The Christmas Toybox scheme has been launched to help those people who are in difficult financial situations.

Carmarthenshire County Council is working with local organisations to deliver the initiative.
People are asked to donate new toys for children and young people aged from birth to 16, for boys and girls. They must be new for health and safety reasons, and the recommended cost is from £5 upwards.

Collections points have been set up at Ty Elwyn, Llanelli Town Hall and the Llanelli Star office in Cowell Street; at County Hall, Spilman Street and the Carmarthen Journal offices in Carmarthen; at Ammanford Town Hall and the Guardian office in Quay Street.
Other collection points are also being set up in the next few weeks.

Carmarthenshire’s deputy leader Cllr Pam Palmer said: “Last year we helped hundreds of families through the Christmas Toybox scheme and this year we would like to help even more.
“People were so kind and generous; we were overwhelmed with the number and quality of gifts received.
“We do appreciate that these are difficult times but if anyone can afford to buy just one extra present when they are doing their gift shopping, it would help make Christmas just that little bit better for a child in need.”
