Your Llanelli are pleased to announce that Jacqui Thompson has joined our ranks as a columnist.

Jacqui’s column is called Democracy Watch and her remit will be to cast a beady eye on County Hall and report back to the people.

For those of you who are unaware, Jacqui was the lady who was arrested when she attempted to film a public Carmarthenshire County Council meeting.

For the past three years or she has also been writing a blog and casting a critical eye over County Hall where the decisions are made which affect every aspect of everyone’s daily life,

Jacqui said:

“I try and look underneath the tight fitting lid of our local government and raise a bit of interest in the goings on in the council to try and encourage a few more to take to their keyboards.”

“Having a regular column on Your Llanelli will offer me the perfect platform to gain more exposure and a wider audience.”

Democracy Watch is already proving very popular with the readers and Jacqui’s is busy preparing her third article.
