Keep Wales Tidy events in December 2012

Keep Wales Tidy have a few events running this month and are looking for volunteers to help:

  • 4th, 10th & 17th – Footpath maintenance / fence & gate construction: Morfa Berwig, Llanelli – https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=51.66988,-4.107664&hl=en&num=1&t=m&z=16f (Meet at the end of Berwick Road). (9.30am – 2.30pm). Work will include the laying of a new footpath surface and creating new fencing and gateways. Some tools and equipment will be available, but if you can bring along shovel, rake, wheelbarrow it would be a great help. THESE EVENTS ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN.
  • 11th – Waste & tyre amnesty: Burry Port – https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=51.683745,-4.251162&hl=en&ll=51.683625,-4.251065&spn=0.014448,0.042272&num=1&t=h&z=15 (Sea View car park). (8am – 2pm).   • 12th – Display / information stand: St Elli Centre, Llanelli – https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=51.681936,-4.159184&hl=en&num=1&t=h&z=16 Keep Wales Tidy and Tidy Towns will be on hand to give information on the project from 10.30am until 2pm. The stand will be present as part of the Carmarthenshire Community Challenge road show.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE MEETING POINTS ARE WHERE THE ARROW IS POINTING, NOT POINT A.

All (unless otherwise stated) are welcome to join the above events. You are welcome to stay for the duration or any time you can give will be greatly received. For all day events, please bring lunch as we don’t provide this, and the work locations are often not near food outlets / shops.

If you arrive after the designated start time, please ring 07824 504805 when you arrive in case we have moved on to a different part of the site, or come and look for us.

Children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult.

You are covered under Keep Wales Tidy’s insurance while at these events.

Please dress sensibly to suit the weather conditions on the day. Suitable footwear should be worn also (not sandals / flip flops, formal shoes); safety boots are ideal, but anything fairly rugged will be acceptable.
