COASTAL protection works are being carried out at Burry Port harbour.
The council is spending £140,000 at Burry Port Eastern Revetment.
The works, which started in mid October, include a sloping revetment wall to help prevent further coastal erosion of the area.
The scheme will strengthen the coastal defences and increase their resilience in the face of increasing storm/wave attack.
The works are due to be completed next week.
A lot of work has been carried out along the Burry Port coast in recent months including a new boardwalk beach access, fencing and dune management near the Shoreline Caravan Park.
Executive Board Member for Street Scene Cllr Colin Evans said: “I am delighted these works are being carried out at Burry Port. The coastline is one of our main tourist attractions and it is vital we do all we can to protect it.
“We also work closely with partner organisations such as the Environment Agency and the Countryside Council for Wales to help plan the best way to manage our coast both now and in the future.”
