The Local Service Board in Carmarthenshire has launched a new collaborative initiative aimed at supporting high performance in our local public service leaders and managers.
As part of the cross public service Executive Coaching Network a number of senior managers have been trained to act as executive coaches to leaders and managers across the police service, local authority, health board, voluntary sector and higher education establishments.
They will now be in a position to offer tailored coaching programmes focussed on achieving leadership excellence to those who choose to access the network.
“These new executive coaches will provide valuable opportunities to help develop our leaders across the County,” said Alex Machin, Corporate Development Advisor for Carmarthenshire County Council. “If we improve our leadership and management then we improve the services we deliver.’
“This is a new and innovative approach to leadership development and it’s the first time a local service board has set something like this up.
“What we’ve done is capitalise on our local knowledge and experience and then look to share that across the LSB. As organisations we’ve embraced coaching and have been using it internally but this is a real opportunity to deliver coaching collaboratively and improve partnership working.’
The Executive Coaching Network involves Dyfed Powys Police, Carmarthenshire County Council, Coleg Sir Gar, Hywel Dda Health Board, the Welsh Ambulance Service and Carmarthenshire Association of Voluntary Services [CAVS].
