TRADING Standards Services across Mid and West Wales are to work closely together.
Heads of Public Protection and Trading Standards Managers met in Carmarthen yesterday, to plan a collaborative Trading Standards service for Mid and West Wales.
The Welsh Government’s Minister for Social Justice and Local Government Carl Sargeant AM wants local authorities in Wales to work closer together to make their services more efficient and resilient. This is the first step towards joining a key regulatory service together.
Core Trading Standards services will be aligned in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Powys to offer better protection for consumers and consistent advice and information to business throughout the region. It will ensure that there is a guaranteed Trading Standards service, equally available to everyone in Mid and West Wales.
Mid and West Wales Joint Trading Standards will develop a regional work plan over the next three months and implement it from April 2013.
