Environment Agency Wales is urging people to be prepared for further localised flooding as more heavy rainfall is due to reach Wales tomorrow.
Forecasts indicate that a band of persistent rainfall will affect most parts of Wales by early tomorrow morning and continue throughout the day.
This will clear by the evening in most parts, but may continue through the night in parts of south Wales.
Strong winds combined with high tides may also result in large waves and spray overtopping across the Welsh coastline.
A number of properties across the country were affected by flooding over the weekend, with one flood warning and seven flood alerts still in place today.
River levels remain high from recent rainfall, and more flood warnings are likely to be issued, along with flood alerts across the whole of the country.
The Agency is advising people to take extra care as driving conditions are likely to be difficult.
People driving or walking near the coastline should also be careful for sea spray from waves.
Flood water is extremely dangerous, and people should not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
Graham Hillier, from Environment Agency Wales said:
“Our teams have been working around the clock over the weekend to keep our rivers clear and to make sure that flood defences remain in good condition ahead of further rainfall.
“With more rain on the way, we’re advising people to take precautions and be on their guard for flooding.
“Anyone concerned about flooding in their area can phone Floodline on 0845 988 1188 or visit our website for advice on how to prepare or to find out if free flood warnings are available in their area.”
People are advised to keep an eye on local news and weather reports and listen to traffic reports for updates of any disruption locally.
