Last Saturday 9th February saw touring French Band Nocaine making a stop off at Llanelli to play a live gig at the Masons Arms supported by FDX.
Nocaine hail from Lyon near the French Alps and the band consists of:
- David on lead vocals
- Morganon Rhythm guitar /vocals
- Julien onlead guitar
- Niko on bass and
- Marc on drums.
The band have been together since the end of 2008. Julien and Niko took some time out of their schedule to answer some questions that I put to them
What are your musical influences
We usually listen to hardcore and metalcore music as these following bands do: Asking Alexandria, While She sleeps, Architects, Confide and Boney M ; )
How would you describe your music?
We try to mix these different emotions in our music: energy , intensity ,sincerity and brutality.
Are you a signed or unsigned band?
We are signed to a French underground label which is in charge of promotion and distribution of our album. About the booking , we are on our own, except for this UK tour which is organised by the Flaming Tour Agency.
Why did you pick Llanelli as a place to visit on your tour?
We did not choose the location for the gigs on this tour…. But I think the booker did it for the amazing audience Welsh people are!!!
What did you think of Llanelli ?
To be honest we don’t know how to pronounce your town’s name : )
It looked pretty nice but it would have been better with good weather. People we met in the Masons Arms were friendly. It was definitely a good experience and we hope we’ll be back to stay a while in Llanelli.
Ps, Marc the drummer pronounced Llanelli pretty well when I spoke to him after the gig!!!( T.G)
Where did you stay in Llanelli?
Unfortunately our hotel was in Swansea. If we come again for a gig we’ll stay with people we met in your town.
Thank you for supporting Nocaine! Julien and Nico
