Staff at Pwll Stores have been learning CPR thanks to a course sponsored by the British heart Foundation.
Jen Oakley, Ann Curwood, Amy Davies and Dot Brownlow attended the one night heart start training course and received heart start training.
The group were taught by instructor Marc Gower, a Burry Port community first responder and the course was held in Burry Port RFC on Monday the 18th and Wednesday the 20th of March.
Dot Brownlow said:
“We wanted to do it because there have been accidents in front of the shop and that gave us girls the reason to do it.”
“The instructor made it interesting and made us all feel comfortable during the training and it was done in a relaxed atmosphere.”
Asked if they were worried about doing the course, Dot said:
“No we weren’t worried at all, the instructions we were given were easy to follow, it gave us a good feeling afterwards and we feel able to save a life now and that gives us a satisfying feeling.”
