A COUNTRY house hotel in Carmarthenshire has been chosen as the home for a forthcoming S4C television series.
Caron and Fiona Jones’s newly built Llwyn Helyg, in the Tywi Valley between Carmarthen and Llandeilo, has been chosen as Welsh singer Margaret Williams’ home for her new series of eight programmes produced by Tinopolis in which she will be visited by artist guests who knock on the door.
They will chat together, reminisce and look at archive footage of them performing together. Some guests will be ‘up and coming’ singers who will have a CD recorded at the studios in Llanelli, then played on the state of the art hi-fi housed in Llwyn Helyg’s ‘Listening Room’.
The guests at the hotel, awarded five AA gold stars, will include Shan Cothi and Tara Bethan, Wyn Davies (Only Men Aloud), Geraint Griffiths and Dafydd Iwan.
Caron Jones said: “We were delighted to be able to host such a prestigious television series. We had about 25 top flight artists here. The series will be going out prime time on eight consecutive Saturdays from April 20.”
The Carmarthenshire County Council executive board member for regeneration and leisure Cllr Meryl Gravell said: “I’m delighted that the new series is based in Carmarthenshire in a distinctive property in an area that has so much to offer.”
