A WOMAN has been fined £75 after both her dogs fouled and she failed to clean it up at a Llanelli park.
Council environmental enforcement officers were on patrol at Penyfan Park at the time of the incident.
She was issued with a fixed penalty notice and if she does not pay, it could result in court prosecution where the maximum fine is £1,000.
Executive Board Member for Environmental and Public Protection Cllr Jim Jones said the council was working hard to tackle the problem of dog fouling.
He added: “Our enforcement officers carry out regular patrols across the county and will not hesitate to fine those who fail to clean up after their dogs.
“I am particularly concerned that this incident occurred in a children’s play park, if they fall into dog mess not only is it extremely unpleasant but there are health implications to consider as well.”
Residents are being urged to help catch offenders by reporting dog fouling offences in their area as part of the ‘Dog Watch’ scheme.
