Llanelli Music Scene is gearing up for its‘Band of the Month launch night on Saturday 30th March 2013.

The event has been organised in conjunction with the Kilkenny Cat Pub Llanelli.

The free event is envisaged to be the first in a long line of Live music events showcasing local bands, duos and solo artists from the Llanelli and surrounding areas, with the aim of supporting and promoting live music in the area.

Llanelli Music Scene plan to choose a favourite musical artist each month and put on a live event featuring the artist under the banner of ‘ Band of the Month’. The chosen artist will have their live set filmed and they will be featured on Llanelli Music Scene’s Facebook page and on the www.yourllanelli.org.uk online community news website.

Confirmed for the Launch night on 30thMarch is the superb vocalist and guitarist

Dai Sharkey, who’s website says he has been writing songs for over 25 years and since 2009 he has been writing and playing as a solo singer/songwriter, using nu-folk soundscapes to produce what he considers to be Dark-folk.

(ASD) A Sudden Disturbance who plan to bring their own unique blend of original dark rock to the Kilkenny in the form of an acoustic set on the night!

Zookeepers who describe themselves as mixing heavy dance riffs with indie rock. The band have recently been confirmed as finalists in the Betws FC Carmarthenshire Battle of the Bands competition for April 2013

Stand Up and Shout, the catchy rock band who came third in the 2012 Llanelli Battle of the Bands completion last year and who have also been confirmed as finalists for the April 2013 Betws FC Carmarthenshire Battle of the Bands competition.

Cinema Of Ray, who are in the midst of putting a Facebook page and photos together as I write. Cinema of Ray is made up of accomplished local musicians including brothers Lee and Nick Shears who you may have seen play with great local band The Ecko, Matt Jones of former bands the Hepburns and The Mams and Gruff Wynn Owen of former band Sleepy Panda Club. The band report they are an indie pop rock outfit and we all here at Llanelli Music Scene cannot wait to see them play on Saturday at the Kilkenny Cat.

Last and not least we are proud to present the Headliners of the Llanelli Music Scene Band of the Month Launch event. They are the 2012 Llanelli Battle of the Band winners, the five piece rock band Beautiful Strangers

Get down to the Kilkenny Cat at 6pm Saturday 30th March to see some of the best local live bands and artists that Llanelli and district has to offer to the world!!!!
