Music, magic, poetry and pirates are all special landmarks on the Children’s Story-Telling Trail at the National Botanic Garden of Wales.
The weekend event – on April 13 and 14 – features the children from two Carmarthenshire schools who will be joining the trail and telling stories of their own.
Creative director Cheryl Beer has been busy working with the youngsters from Bigyn School, Llanelli, and Johnstown Primary in Carmarthen, creating the trail and designing posters and fliers to advertise the event.
Said Cheryl: “Children have always been inspired by stories so there is a lot of excitement and enthusiasm around this project. And we also have a fantastic line-up of grown-up story-tellers, too, who are very kindly giving their time to take part in what will be a wonderful weekend at this stunning venue.”
Last year’s event was a big hit with all the participants but, said Cheryl, the children’s feedback was clearly in favour of them taking part as story-tellers on the trail as well. So, four children from each school will be performing tales for the trail that they and their classmates have created.
She added: “We are very lucky that so many talented people are taking part. Many of them were here last year and we have some brilliant new-comers, too.”
The Children’s Story-Telling Trail starts at 11am on Saturday April 13
