A RESIDENTIAL caravan on land without planning permission has been removed after enforcement action by Carmarthenshire County Council.
Following a complaint made to the local planning authority that a caravan was being used residentially at Ty Crug Organic Farm Pontynyswen, the allegations were investigated.
After investigations a Planning Enforcement Notice was issued on October 24, 2012, to Mr Ian Hall, of Caravan, Hill View, Felingwm and Mr Peter Thorpe of the Caravan, Ty Crug Organic Farm, Pontynyswen, requiring the permanent cessation of the residential use of the caravan and land and the permanent removal of the caravan off the land. The Notice allowed the owner and occupier until February 24, 2013, to adhere to the requests of the Notice.
On April 4, 2013, the site was visited after the land owner said that the caravan had been removed.
The site was subject to previous enforcement action in which Mr Hall had erected a residential building against the advice of the local planning authority and without gaining planning consent. The building was eventually demolished following successful enforcement action.
Mr Hall is also subject to ongoing prosecution proceedings for a large building that he has also erected on the land without the benefit of planning permission.
Executive board member for environmental and public protection Cllr Jim Jones said: βI am pleased that our officers have taken determined action to sort out this problem and that the caravan has now been taken off the land.
βIt shows that the council will take effective action to enforce planning legislation.β
