SIX entrepreneurial stars have been given their chance to shine – thanks to an event held at The Beacon for Enterprise last Friday.
The event was delivered as part of The Beacon Bursary Competition and offered these rising stars of the business world a chance to meet with potential business mentors. Starting your own business can be a leap of faith, with no safety net, and having access to such a wealth of support and experience will offer the best opportunity for these businesses to flourish. Mentors from both private and public sector businesses were present at the event.
Jamie Best, Director Melin Consultancy, one of the business mentors that attended the event , said: “It was a great morning and encouraging to see young people with real passion about turning an idea into a business.”
“The ambition and drive was definitely in abundance and hopefully by using the experience of business mentors to help guide the early stages of the business growth that energy will be channelled into something that turns into successful and profitable businesses.”
The event aimed to match successful applicants with mentors who will support them to the final stage of the competition, a Dragon’s Den Pitch to business experts on the 20th June 2013.
The Beacon Bursary forms part of Carmarthen County Councils commitment to developing entrepreneurship within the county.
The Beacon Bursary Competition is an exciting new initiative launched to provide a unique opportunity for young entrepreneurs to develop their business ideas. For further information please contact Anna Sadler on 01554 748807.
