Nia Griffith Labour MP for Llanelli nominates local band for Rock the House Competition

Llanelli all girl band ‘Initial Reply’ have been nominated by Labour MP for Llanelli and Shadow Wales Minister Nia Griffith to take part in the prestigious ‘Rock the House’ competition to celebrate the brightest and best unsigned musicians in the UK.

Rock the House was founded by MP Mike Weatherley with the aim of raising the political profile of the intellectual property rights of musicians amongst parlitarians.

The competition involves MPs nominating artists from their own constituencies and a panel of international music industry experts and musicians then picking the finalists to compete in a live battle of the bands competition. The winners will also get the chance to play a live set on the Terrace of the House of Commons on 26th June 2013.

Initial Reply have been nominated in the under 19’s section of the competition with their track ‘Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost’.

The under 19’s judging panel includes Paul Anthony from Planet Rock, Catherine Roe Senior Manager for EMI and Donavan Hepburn drummer for Take that & Olly Murs amongst others.

Patrons of ’Rock the House’ include Brian May Queen , Mark Hoppus from Blink 182, Matt Tuck from Bullet for my Valentine, Alice Cooper, All Time Low and many others.
