LIFESHARE is a food, clothes and furniture bank based at Antioch Centre and provides practical help for families and individuals who are struggling financially through changes in circumstances, crises and benefit changes. We are experiencing a sharp increase in the requests for help since the middle of March.

As the welfare reforms and council tax benefit changes bite the most vulnerable families and households are needing help and support as they struggle to make ends meet. Its not just unemployed people, but also people in part-time work or parents working multiple jobs that are finding it difficult to cope.

The demand on the food bank has more than tripled in the last month or so, and we are seeing people coming in to the Centre who have not eaten for days. People are becoming increasingly desperate and we know this trend is set to continue.

We are so grateful for the generous help and donations from people across Llanelli and further afield but we really need to see donations of food, clothing and financial gifts, increase significantly.

You can help us help vulnerable people by bringing donations of food, clothing (see the lists below) to Antioch Centre between 12 – 2pm Monday to Friday or by supporting the the monthly indoor bootsales. These are held on the 3rd Saturday of every month which provides low cost quality second-hand goods for sale and also raises funds for the food bank.

The next bootsale is May 18th between 9am -12pm.

Thank you so much for your support!
