When a package arrived through my mailbox I excitedly opened it to find Sonic Temple’s debut album inside and after hearing the album’s fourth track 20 Tears on the Llanelli Music Scene Downloadable C.D I was keen to play the rest of the album and I was enthused  by knowing that 20 Tears was the most downloaded track from the Llanelli Music Scene’s Music player in April 2013.

SONIC TEMPLE’s debut studio album which is aptly named Sonic Temple was released in late 2012 and has nine tracks in total including:

1. HumanKind

2. Sacrifice

3.Daylight

4.20 Tears

5. Addiction

6. Time to Burn

7.Seize the Day

8.Salvation

9.Die for me

Sonic Temple certainly have their own unique sound and the band, or should I say duo, is made up of (Mr H) Andrew Richards who plays lead, rhythm and bass guitars and Allan Green on vocals.

The opening track Human Kind starts off with some rocking wah wah guitar effects which sets the scene for what’s to come on the rest of the album which is filled with  rocking rhythm guitars and solos topped with the  distinctive vocals of Allan Green. Think Rob Halford- Judas Priest i.e you know when you hear his voice that it is  him; well you know when you hear a Sonic Temple song that it is them as they sound so distinctive.

Sonic Temple’s first album is a superb modern rock album and every track has something memorable and catchy to it.

My personal favourite tracks include  Track 3  Daylight which starts with a catchy melodic guitar riff that continues throughout  the song. The extremely powerful rock ballad Addiction  which is track five on the album has a  hauntingly pretty guitar sound and atmospheric vocals  and  part of the song  reminds me of one of Metallica’s epic rock ballads both vocally and instrumentally in part. Track 7 Seize the Day is another blinding song ( which is no relation to the equally as fab A7X song of the same name) The Start of  Track  9 ‘Die for me’ reminds me of the classic Alice in Chains sound but punches into chugging muted  guitars laid under melodic vocals that lead you to another pretty and  melodic guitar solo again reminiscent in my mind of old Alice and Chains and this is a great thing.

I definitely recommend you check out Sonic Temple ‘s great  album and you can get links for where to buy it off their facebook page.
