The sun was shining and it brought out a fair crowd to this well organised annual outdoor family event at Tycroes RFC which included a 6 a side football competition and activities for children, a Hog Roast, Burger Van, outside bar and most importantly seven amazing live bands on an outdoor stage.

The first band of the day was The Ecko who have returned to the live circuit to play a series of  gigs over the summer following a short hiatus . Sadly I didn’t get to see The Ecko play as I arrived midway through the second band, The Knuckle Downs, set. Gutted I missed The Ecko as I know from seeing them previously they put on a great set and I’m pretty they were an excellent choice to open the show.

Anyway… The Knuckle Downs were in full swing when I perched myself on my travel chair in the centre of the pitch (courtesy of Leyla !! thanks for that) and they immediately got me soaking the atmosphere of the event with their catchy upbeat punk rock set.

The third band on of the day were Peepshow and this female fronted band entertained the crowd with cover songs by bands including Guns n Roses , Bon Jovi, Wheatus, Stereophonics, Tina Turner and Kings of Leon.

Peepshow

Next up was Superhans fresh from playing their Llanelli Music Scene gig in the Kilkenny Cat the week before. Superhans put on a great set which included cover songs by Billy Idol, Radiohead, Ugly Kid Joe the Stereophonics and more.

They were followed by Stand up and Shout who put on a rocking set as they always do playing a mix of original and cover songs which included their original song No Time which they provided for the Llanelli Music Scene downloadable cd www.llanellitown.com/musicplayer

Stand up and Shout

Carbon were up next and played a mix of original rock/pop punk songs and covers which they played expertly with passion and great stage presence.

The last band on and headlining the event was Jack Danielz and this female fronted rock cover band entertained the crowd with classic rock covers songs by bands including Deep Purple and AC/DC to name but a few ending the night with a bang!

This was a great day out with great weather and great bands what more could you want on a hot Saturday in June?  Looking forward to next year, this event is not one to miss!!
